On October 31, 2008 all four of the county’s varsity football programs won. Several folks inquired as to the last time that all four county teams had won on the same night. A look back in the record books revealed that last time that it occurred was in 1990. Given that it occurred 18 years ago, it is ironic that it actually occurred twice during the 1990 season. On September 14th Marianna beat Holmes County, Cottondale beat Ernest Ward, Graceville beat Baker and Sneads beat Vernon. On November 9th of the same season Marianna beat Pace, Cottondale beat Wewahitchka, Graceville beat Pensacola Catholic and Sneads beat Apalachicola.
It should also be noted that there have been several times in the last 18 years in which three of the county teams won and the fourth had the night off (so technically no county teams lost on these nights). This occurred on 10/7/05, 10/8/04, 11/10/00, 10/16/92 and 11/22/91.
