Indians Close Out Season By Clint Cox
The Grand Ridge Indians Middle School football team closed out the 2009 season with a hard fought 14-8 loss to Blountstown on Tuesday night. Blountstown took an early 6-0 lead in the first quarter but the Indians battled back. In the second quarter Wayne Driggers rambled 46 yards for a score and Kurt Willis added the two point run to give Grand Ridge a 8-6 lead. But with : 17 seconds left in the half Blountstown scored and took a 14-8 lead into halftime. The Indians scored a touchdown in the second half but it was called back on a penalty. Neither team could muster any second half points and Blountstown was able to run out the clock to preserve the win. Grand Ridge finished the season with a 3-3 record.
