Chipola Softballers Named All- American

Chipola College Softball players Emma Stevenson and Kellie Todd have been named to the NJCAA Division I Softball All American Team.
Emma Stevenson was named to the First Team as the number one pitcher in the nation.  Kellie Todd was named to the Second Team as Catcher.  Steven is a freshman from Harrisburg, NC, and will be returning next year.  Todd is a sophomore from Ocala, and will be taking her softball skills to the next level next year to play at the University of Central Florida.
Stevenson collected 21 wins and only 3 defeats, while picking up 4 saves on the season. Her ERA for the year was a jaw-dropping 1.067. Catcher Kellie Todd’s .435 batting average and defensive prowess helped land her on the NJCAA Second Team All-American list. She logged 300 putouts and threw out 22 runners stealing.
“It’s a great honor for our program for Emma and Kellie to be recognized as NJCAA All-Americans,” said Coach Belinda Hendrix.  “We were fortunate to have extremely talented individuals in the circle and behind the plate for us this year.”

Both Stevenson and Todd helped the Chipola Lady Indians to an astounding 49 wins, capturing the Panhandle Conference Championship, the NJCAA Region VIII Championship, and a fifth place finish at the NJCAA National Tournament.
