Bulldogs Nip the Pirates ….Twice

Marianna Varsity and Jr. Varsity both win over Sneads squad.
The Marianna Bulldog Varsity basketball squad under the leadership of coach Travis Blanton won their third consecutive game on Monday evening with a hard fought victory at home over the Sneads Pirates. At one point in the first quarter Sneads held the lead, but through most of the game Marianna led by a narrow margin.
The halftime score had Marianna leading by four points, 30-26. At the final buzzer the margin was only three points, 59-56. Kruize Penkins hit a free throw to create the three point margin with only seconds left, thus sealing the victory for the dogs.

Marianna Jr. Varsity Gets Third Victory
The Marianna Junior Varsity scored a relatively easy victory over the Sneads Junior Varsity squad in a preliminary game on Monday at Marianna. The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead, and maintained a safe margin through most of the contest. The half time score was 31-19, and the final score was 57-48.
