The Marianna Middle School Lady Bullpups softball squad just keeps on racking up the wins. In action on Tuesday both squads picked up wins over the visiting Chipley Lady Tigers. Team One downed Chipley by a score of 6-4. They fell behind early on but rallied to tie the game at 3-3 in the third inning. By the fourth inning they had taken a 4-3 and then went on to make it 6-4 in the fifth and final inning. Mallory Dean was the winning pitcher while Mia Boykin and Hayden Searcy each picked up two hits. Team One is now 10-0 on the season and has allowed just 8 runs all season. Team Two also recorded a win, improving to 9-1 with a 10-9 win. They scored a run in the bottom of the last inning to pull out the thrilling win over the Chipley squad.
Both squads are coached by Rochelle Summerwell, Sammy Basford and Scott Wiggins. They will close out the 2008 season with road games against Port St. Joe on April 8th and Cottondale on April 9th.
