Several teams were in action on Monday night at the MERE. In 9 & 10 year old action People’s First prevailed over the Optimist by a score of 9-6. Evan Barber and Garrison Melzer led People’s First in hitting while Austin Torbett had a triple and 4 RBI for the Optimist. Jared Hendrix also had a hit and RBI for the Optimist, who fell to 2-4 on the season. Peoples First improved to 2-3-2 on the year.
In the night capper the Kiwanis took on Zaxby’s and posted a 13-8 win. Brandon Reed had an inside the park home run for the Kiwanis while Max Harrell had a 3 RBI double for Zaxby’s. Hunter Eddins started the game on the mound for the Kiwanis and was relieved by Aaron Williams in the third inning. Jack Craven started the game for Zaxby’s and was relieved by Harrell in the third inning.
