The Sneads Pirates split in a pair of games last week with a couple of Calhoun County squads. On Thursday night they traveled to Blountstown and fell 50-46 to the Tigers. The Pirates held a slim 24-22 lead at the half and the game was tied 33-33 going into the final quarter. The Tigers prevailed by outscoring the Pirates 17-13 in that final quarter. John Locke led the way with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Justin Neel followed with 13 points as well and Sherrick Williams added 8 points.
On Friday night the Pirates hosted the Wildcats of Altha and came away with a 70-51 win. Williams led Sneads with 22 points and Neel added 13. Sneads improved to 10-5 on the season and 4-1 in district play. They traveled to Panama City on Tuesday to take on Bozeman. Results of that contest were not available at press time. The Pirates will be back in action Friday night when they travel to Cottondale to take on the Hornets.
