PORT ST. JOE – The Port St. Joe Tigers Sharks broke open a close game in the second quarter and went to post a 41-6 win over Sneads last Friday night. The Pirates played well in spots but had difficulty sustaining any drives. "We just couldn’t string together enough plays to keep up. Defensively when we stayed with our assignments we played well but when we broke down their offense took advantage of our mistakes," said Pirate Head Coach Don Dowling.
Port St. Joe opened up the game with a score but missed the extra point. The Pirates countered to tie the game on a 34 yard touchdown toss from Taylor Edge to John Locke. After a missed extra point the game was tied at 6-6 and remained tied into the second quarter. The Tiger Sharks broke the game open though in the second quarter with two touchdowns. After making both two point conversion plays they led 22-6 at the half. From there they poured it on in the second half and went on to the 35 point victory.
With the loss Sneads fell to 1-4 on the season and 0-3 in district play. They will step out of district play this week as they play host to Vernon.
