Grand Ridge Middle School seventh grader Jeremy Wert brought home a silver medal recently from Florida Middle School State Track Championships. The event was held on May 8th at Holy Trinity Academy in Melbourne. Wert placed second in the boys 800 meter run with a time of 2:07. He is the son of Kathy S. Wert of Greenwood and the grandson of William and Miriam Wert of Marianna.
Also placing in the event for Grand Ridge were eight grader Darius Williams who placed 7th in the high jump and Johsua Taylor who placed 8th in the 200 meter dash.
