The Chipola Lady Indians softball squad went 4-1 in a recent tournament in Panama City. On Saturday they defeated Chattanooga State 3-0. Rayna McClinton was the winning pitcher as she went the distance, allowing no runs on 3 hits and striking out 8 batters. The Lady Indians followed that up with an 8-4 win over Florida CC at Jacksonville. Brooke Muth claimed the win as she threw 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits and striking out 11 batters. Chipola trailed 4-0 early and still trailed 4-3 going into the 6th inning when they rallied for 5 runs to get the win.
On Sunday they dropped their first game 9-1 to Wallace CC-Hanceville. They bounced back in game two with a 19-0 win over Lake Michigan CC. Rebekah Lewis was the winning pitcher and Alison Kirkland came in to relieve her in the fifth inning. Kara Gordan had a big day at the plate, going 4-4 with 3 RBI and scoring 3 runs. Jasmine Angello was 2-2 with 2 RBI.
Chipola improved to 15-6 and were scheduled to take on Darton CC on the road on Tuesday. They will be back in action on Thursday at home when they play host to Grand Rapids at 12 noon and Lake Michigan CC at 2 pm. On Friday they will have a double header at home against Navarro at 1 & 3 pm.
