Emerald Coast Hospice Offering Camp Brave Heart

Emerald Coast Hospice will be offering a camp for children this summer. Camp Brave Heart is designed for children, ages 7-14, who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Regardless of the type of loss or the reason for the loss, all children throughout the area are invited to apply to attend Camp Brave Heart. A prior affiliation with Emerald Coast Hospice is not a prerequisite.

Experiencing a loss at any age is difficult, but it is especially hard on a child. Camp Brave Heart is run by clinical experts who understand the healing process and who genuinely care about the children that are left behind. While the emphasis is on healing, there is play time as well. The children will participate in indoor and outdoor activities such as arts and crafts, field games, and swimming. Children will also have the opportunity to honor the people they have lost with a very special memorial service.

The camp will be held at Camp Timpoochee located in Niceville, Fl. The dates for the camp are July 16th-19th. Volunteer applications to assist with Camp Brave Heart are being accepted. For more information or to receive an application for a child to attend or to volunteer simply call Gino Mayo or Sherri Stone at 850-526-3577 or go to www.gentiva.com/hospice.
