During last week’s 17th annual Altrusa Golf Tournament at Indian Springs Golf Course, a unique foursome was entered in the competition. It was the Spence family.
Walter and Libby Spence played with their son Dr. Stephen Spence, and his son, Steve (age 11). This was the first three-generational team to ever enter the Altrusa tournament, and probably the first such team to ever enter any tournament in Jackson County. The highlight of the round came on hole # 11, when little Steve chipped in for an eagle. The team finished with a respectable score of 8 under, and they plan to beat that mark next year.
