Troy University Baseball Clinic for the Marianna Mad Dogs

Several area youth from a local Marianna baseball team traveled to Troy, Alabama recently for a Troy University baseball clinic. This is the third year that Head Coach Bobby Pierce and the Troy University baseball team have sponsored a clinic for the Marianna Mad Dogs. The clinic taught infield, outfield, catching, pitching, base running and hitting training and practice. Trevor Tyre, Marianna High School and Chipola College baseball alumnus headed the clinic. After a morning of baseball, the Marianna Mad Dogs were guests at the Troy University football game where Troy defeated Florida Atlantic University 47-21. Marianna Mad Dog Head Coach, Tom Malone says, “This is a great opportunity for our boys.  The lessons they learn at Troy will stay with them a lifetime. We really appreciate the Troy baseball team and especially Coach Pierce for providing such an amazing opportunity to our team and for their consistent support of the Marianna Mad Dogs through the years.”
