Tigers KO Knights

The Graceville Tigers got just what the doctor ordered with a 59-12 victory this past Friday night over Rocky Bayou. On Homecoming night the Tigers gave the Homecoming crowd plenty to cheer about as they scored early and often. Tigers coach Todd Wertenberger elected not to start several of his first string team and instead gave plenty of backups and youngsters large amounts of playing time. Even without some of their starters playing Graceville jumped out to a big lead and led 33-12 at the half. The second half was more of the same, lots of youngsters getting plenty of playing time and still scoring points. To top off the night Freshman Rasheed Campbell picked off a Knight’s pass and returned it 80-yards for a touchdown on the game’s last play.

With the district win the Tigers improved to 2-6 overall and 1-2 in the district. Next up the Tigers will host arch rival Cottondale on Friday.
