Baseball-Softball Registration

Marianna Recreation Department would like to announce for the 2010 Baseball and Softball Leagues for youth ages 5 to 15 will be held February 1st through February 26th from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM at The Marianna Educational and Recreational Expo (MERE) located at 3625 Caverns Road in Marianna. The registration fee for T-Ball will be $35 for residents and $45 for residents outside the city limits. For Dixie Machine Pitch, Dixie Youth and “O” Zone fees will be $35 for residents and $52.50 for residents outside city limits. Dixie Boys fees will be $40 for residents and $60 for residents outside city limits. Softball fees for all leagues will be $35 for residents and $52.50 for residents outside city limits. The fee must be paid with a check or money order, no cash will be accepted. No one will be allowed to register after February 26th. Registration forms may also be dropped off at City Hall. All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate. The age of all boys’ participants on May 1st of the current year will be the player’s age for the entire season. For softball participants age as of January 1st will determine league they participates in.

TEE BALL LEAGUE (BOYS & GIRLS AGES 5& 6)

MACHINE PITCH LEAGUE (BOYS AGES 7& 8)

AAA DIXIE YOUTH (BOYS AGES 9& 10)

“O” ZONE DIXIE YOUTH (BOYS AGES 11 & 12)

DIXIE BOYS (BOYS AGES 13 & 14)

FARM SOFTBALL (GIRLS AGES 6,7 & 8)

MINOR SOFTALL (GIRLS AGES 8, 9 & 10)

FRESHMAN SOFTBALL (GIRLS AGES 11 & 12)

SOPHOMORE SOFTBALL (GIRLS AGES 13, 14 & 15)



Tryouts for Machine pitch will be on March 8th at 5:30pm. AAA League tryouts will be at 6:30pm on March 8th. “O”Zone tryouts will be at 5:30pm on March 9th and Dixie Boys tryouts will be March 9th at 6:30pm. Softball league tryouts will be held on March 4h at 5:30pm for Minor League and Freshman League and 6:30pm for Sophomore League. All tryouts will be held at the MERE Complex on Caverns Road.

The number of leagues and corresponding ages could vary depending on the total number of participants that register. Anyone that may be interested in coaching a team or officiating youth baseball or softball please contact the Marianna Recreation Department at 482-6228 or come by during registration .
