The Grand Ridge Indians Middle School football squad played host to the Blue Devils of Bonifay and fell 14-6 in a conference matchup. Bonifay took an early lead after a 10 play drive with a 17 yard run in the first quarter. The Indians were unable to mount a counter attack and trailed 8-0 at the half. In the second half Grand Ridge took advantage of a good punt return by Wayne Driggers to the Blue Devil 16 yard line. Darius Williams then picked up 15 yards to set up a 1 yard scoring plunge by Driggers. The extra point failed however and Grand Ridge trailed 8-6. As the game moved into the fourth quarter the Indians were still trailing. Bonifay pushed their lead back to 8 points with a score early in the fourth quarter. Grand Ridge countered with a long drive deep into Blue Devil territory. But near the 10 yard line the Indians came up inches short on a fourth down play. Bonifay was able to then run out the clock to secure the conference win. With the loss Grand Ridge was eliminated from any post season bowl eligibility but will close out the regular season on Tuesday when they host Blountstown.
