Marianna, Florida will soon host an attempt to break the current world record for the most free throws made in one hour. On October 9, 2009 at the local gymnasium, Perry Dissmore, of Panama City, Florida, will be attempting to make more than 1,663 free throws in the one hour time frame. Mr. Dissmore is a former All-American and All-Conference basketball player for his college team in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The attempt to break the record is sponsored by the West Florida Chapter of Boys & Girls Missionary Challenge. BGMC is a 60 year old, national compassion organization, which focuses on the needs of children in the U.S. and around the world. Mr. Dissmore has joined the team assisting BGMC to raise funds for several critical projects.
Special guest have been invited and the event is open to the general public.
Admission is free.
The world record attempt is being sanctioned by Guinness World Records.
